Job Description: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) – Contract
Job Type: Contract
Position Urgency: Normal
Duration: 13–15 weeks
Positions Available: 2
Schedule: Day shift – three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours weekly); no guarantee of hours
Holiday Coverage: Required
Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurses (ER RNs) for a contract assignment in a fast-paced emergency department. The ideal candidate thrives in a high-acuity, team-oriented environment with rapid patient turnover and a strong focus on patient safety and quality care.
Unit Details
- 28-bed Emergency Department
- 4 trauma bays
- 2 behavioral health rooms
- 22 cardiac monitoring rooms
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients of all acuity levels
- Perform rapid patient assessments, triage, and prioritization of care
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to emergent conditions
- Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to deliver timely care
- Accurately document patient care using the electronic medical record system
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience
- Active Hawaii RN license required by assignment start date
- Candidates without an active license must apply upon offer acceptance
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
Certifications
- BLS/BCLS required
- ACLS required
- PALS required
- Preferred (not required): Procedural Sedation, TMCC, EMPC
Equipment & Systems
- EPIC electronic medical record (EMR)
Additional Requirements
- Must arrive the Thursday prior to assignment start to complete employee health requirements on Friday
