NICU / Newborn Nursery RN – Nights

 

  • This rate is only valid for travelers who can start 1/26
  • If the start date is pushed past 1/26, the rate will decrease by $2
  • If the traveler cannot start by 1/26, submit to Req #0503

     

  • HWL Coversheet required for all submissions

Shift & Schedule

  • Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • 36 hours/week (3x12s)
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday
  • No call requirement

Unit Overview

  • Level II Nursery / Newborn Care
  • High-risk deliveries and special care newborns
  • Must have experience attending deliveries
  • Will float to Postpartum (Mother/Baby) and Labor & Delivery as needed

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive, age-appropriate nursing care to neonates during high-risk deliveries and in a Level II nursery. Care is delivered in accordance with hospital standards, regulatory requirements, and professional practice guidelines. The RN is accountable for the quality and safety of care delivered or supervised and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to meet patient and family needs.

Core Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and modify nursing care for neonates and families
  • Ensure patient safety through age-appropriate clinical skills
  • Manage and supervise nursing practice, including delegation to unlicensed assistive personnel
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary care to meet plan-of-care objectives
  • Provide patient and family education as appropriate
  • Document care, evaluations, and outcomes per policy
  • Participate in unit and hospital quality improvement initiatives
  • Support staff development through mentoring and precepting
  • Provide coverage for Mother/Baby and Labor & Delivery units as required

Minimum Qualifications

Experience

  • Previous experience in special care newborn or nursery nursing preferred
  • Delivery attendance experience required

Licensure and Certifications

  • Active Massachusetts RN license required
  • BLS (Healthcare Provider) required
  • NRP required
