Unit Overview

Unit Type: Neuro/Telemetry
Number of Beds: 30
Patient Population:
- Post-ictal seizure patients
- New stroke patients requiring q2h neuro checks
- Post-Tissue Plasminogen Activator (TPA) / Tenecteplase (TNK)
- Post-craniectomy / burrholes
- Elective Video EEG (VEEG) patients (seizures induced on the unit)
- Patients on amiodarone/diltiazem drips
- Post-cardiac catheterization
- Post-Pacemaker / Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator placement
- Post-ablation
- IVIG and plasmapheresis patients
- Overflow MedSurg patients, as needed

Staffing / Experience Requirements

Minimum Experience: 2 years
License Restrictions:
- No previous license hits will be accepted regardless of date, type, or license status
- Do not submit travelers with known license hits

Certifications & Competencies

Required:
- BLS
- NIHSS
- Annual 8 hours neuro education
Must be well-versed in cardiac arrhythmias
Must be up-to-date on EKG competencies

Scheduling / Call

Call: As needed
Holidays: Required in rotation
Weekends: Required in rotation
Hours/Week: 36 guaranteed
