CVOR Registered Nurse – Tuscaloosa, AL
Overview
A hospital facility in Tuscaloosa is seeking an experienced CVOR Registered Nurse for a 13‑week travel assignment. This role requires strong circulating experience in the cardiovascular OR, the ability to float to other units and hospitals, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality, compassionate perioperative care. The schedule follows a standard 5×8‑hour day shift with holiday and every‑other‑weekend requirements.

Assignment Details
- Start Date: February 16, 2026
- End Date: May 3, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM, 5×8 hours (40 hours weekly)
- Weekends: Every other weekend
- Holidays: As required
- Float: Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals
Role Summary
The CVOR RN plans, coordinates, and delivers high‑quality perioperative nursing care while maintaining professional standards and fostering positive therapeutic relationships with patients and families. This role provides leadership within the surgical team, delegating tasks, supervising support staff, and ensuring safe, efficient workflow in the cardiovascular operating room.
Key Responsibilities
- Circulate in cardiovascular OR procedures
- Maintain sterile technique and ensure safe surgical environments
- Coordinate patient care throughout the perioperative process
- Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary teams
- Supervise and support LPNs, PCAs, surgical support staff, and other non‑licensed personnel
- Uphold all professional nursing standards and regulatory requirements
- Float to additional units or facilities as needed
Required Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing
Required Certifications
- AHA BLS
- AHA ACLS
- (Red Cross equivalents accepted)
Required Licensure
- Active Alabama RN license or Compact RN license
- NURSYS verification
- Temporary licenses not accepted
Required Experience
- 2 years of experience
- Will consider 18 months if working under highest license level
- Must have at least 1 year of CVOR specialty experience
