Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, day shifts, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care in the Emergency Room setting during scheduled shifts
• Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, and equitable care for all patients
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient needs, responses, and actions taken
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and document all procedures per policy
• Identify and address patient and family education and discharge needs throughout the care episode
• Oversee and supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel in clinical tasks
• Complete patient education and competency testing as per unit standards

Required Qualifications

• Current nursing license for the State of New Mexico or a Compact State license
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a large Emergency Department
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications via American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or similar
• Successful passage of onsite Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test during the first week of assignment; failure may lead to dismissal
• Must have completed at least one 13-week travel assignment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Epic electronic health records (preferred but not required; training available)
• Flexibility and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
