Job Description: Cardiac Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (CPCU RN) – Days | Contract

Job Type: Contract
Position Urgency: Normal
Duration: 13 weeks
Positions Available: 2
Schedule: Day shift – 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Holiday Coverage: Required

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Cardiac Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurses (CPCU RNs) for a day-shift contract assignment. Under the supervision of nursing leadership, the RN provides high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with state nursing regulations and organizational policies. Clinical leadership and charge nurse support are provided during assigned shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in a cardiac progressive care setting
  • Monitor and manage patients requiring telemetry and intermediate-level cardiac care
  • Perform patient assessments, interventions, and evaluations
  • Administer medications and treatments per provider orders
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
  • Accurately document patient care using the electronic medical record
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold professional nursing standards

Required Qualifications

  • Active state RN license (must be current)
  • Minimum 3 years of acute care nursing experience
  • Telemetry or progressive care experience preferred
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed

Education

  • Associate or Diploma in Nursing required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Certifications

  • BLS/BCLS required
  • ACLS required (within 30 days of assignment start, per facility policy)

Equipment & Systems

  • EPIC electronic medical record (EMR)

Additional Information

  • Travelers residing within 50 miles of the facility may be subject to local rate considerations
  • Up to 16 hours of orientation may be unpaid
  • Facility may cancel up to three (3) shifts per 13-week contract
  • Bilingual skills not required
