Job Description: Cardiac Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (CPCU RN) – Days | Contract

Schedule: Day shift – 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Holiday Coverage: Required
Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Cardiac Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurses (CPCU RNs) for a day-shift contract assignment. Under the supervision of nursing leadership, the RN provides high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with state nursing regulations and organizational policies. Clinical leadership and charge nurse support are provided during assigned shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in a cardiac progressive care setting
- Monitor and manage patients requiring telemetry and intermediate-level cardiac care
- Perform patient assessments, interventions, and evaluations
- Administer medications and treatments per provider orders
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
- Accurately document patient care using the electronic medical record
- Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold professional nursing standards
Required Qualifications
- Active state RN license (must be current)
- Minimum 3 years of acute care nursing experience
- Telemetry or progressive care experience preferred
- Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed
Education
- Associate or Diploma in Nursing required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
Certifications
- BLS/BCLS required
- ACLS required (within 30 days of assignment start, per facility policy)
Equipment & Systems
- EPIC electronic medical record (EMR)
Additional Information
- Travelers residing within 50 miles of the facility may be subject to local rate considerations
- Up to 16 hours of orientation may be unpaid
- Facility may cancel up to three (3) shifts per 13-week contract
- Bilingual skills not required
