Position: Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Logansport, IN 46947
Contract Length: 3 months (possible extension)

Job Overview

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care while providing clinical guidance to support staff. This role requires strong clinical judgment, documentation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prioritize and organize daily patient care
• Assess patient conditions and develop individualized nursing care plans
• Administer medications and treatments per facility policies
• Provide ongoing patient assessments and accurate documentation
• Coordinate unit workflow and communicate concerns to supervisors
• Educate patients and families on medications, procedures, and care plans
• Respond to emergencies and manage agitated patients when necessary
• Ensure safety, infection control, and compliance with facility policies

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
• Active Indiana RN license (or compact/NLC license)
• Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong computer skills and experience with electronic medical records
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work with adult and geriatric populations

Preferred Skills

• Cerner EMR experience (EPIC acceptable)
• Behavioral intervention training (training provided if needed)

Work Environment

• State-operated hospital setting
• Exposure to infectious diseases and high-stress situations
• May require rotating shifts, weekends, or on-call availability
• Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs, and patient restraint when required
