Job Description

• Work on an Adaptive Acuity Unit with occasional Progressive Care Unit (PCU) care at a 3:1 patient ratio (non-negotiable).
• Charge nurse experience is required; candidates unwilling to work charge shifts will not be considered.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5
• Facility size: 25 beds (critical access hospital)
• Overtime will be paid at the regular rate (no multiplier).
• Call, call-back, and charge pay are not applicable beyond the charge nurse requirement.

Requirements

• Experience:

  • Minimum 2+ years of current Medical-Surgical and Telemetry experience.
  • Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience is strongly required.
  • Drip medication experience is required.
  • ICU experience is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 3 months previous travel nursing experience is required (non-negotiable).
  • Small critical access facility experience is preferred.
• Must be willing to float to any inpatient unit within scope of practice.
• Must have own vehicle for this assignment.
• Must hold a Vermont RN license or Compact license.
• Must have active American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications.

• Work history and skills checklists for:

  • Progressive Care Unit (PCU) (current within 1 year)
  • Medical Surgical (MS) (current within 1 year)
  • Telemetry (current within 1 year)
• One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years of employment.
• Permanent address must be included in profile.
• All scheduling requests must be made at the time of submission; no scheduling changes will be approved after offer.
