Description

(RN) – Clinical Decision Unit (CDU)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee unit operations during assigned night shifts to ensure safe, high-quality patient care
  • Perform charge nurse duties including patient assignments, staffing coordination, and unit flow management
  • Provide direct patient care with a modified assignment as needed
  • Conduct daily patient rounds to assess quality, safety, and appropriateness of care
  • Support and oversee the nursing process using evidence-based practice
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
  • Serve as a clinical resource, mentor, and role model for nursing staff
  • Support staffing needs, resource utilization, and survey readiness
  • Promote patient safety, quality improvement, and compliance standards

Must-Have Skills & Qualifications:

  • Active RN license (State or Compact)
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience
  • Prior relief charge or leadership experience preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
  • BLS required; ACLS preferred or obtainable upon hire
  • Excellent communication, delegation, and team leadership skills
  • Ability to work full-time night shifts in an acute care environment
