Schedule- 11am-1130pm
Pay Package-
Taxable- $36.00/hour
Tax Free- $1246/week

American Consultants is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team in Shelton, WA. This role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality emergency nursing care across diverse settings, including acute care, trauma centers, and urgent care environments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in emergency medicine, critical care, and patient assessment, with the flexibility to travel between facilities to meet patient needs. Your expertise will directly contribute to delivering prompt, compassionate care in fast-paced situations, ensuring optimal patient outcomes while supporting healthcare teams nationwide.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients presenting with acute illnesses or injuries in various hospital and clinic settings.
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and physical examinations.
- Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and manage airway support using aseptic techniques.
- Assist with procedures such as suturing, catheterization, tube feeding, and ventilator management.
- Coordinate diagnostic evaluations including laboratory tests, imaging (such as CT scans), and specimen collection.
- Document patient information accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems like Epic or Cerner while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Provide triage services for incoming patients to prioritize care based on severity and acuity.
- Support long-term and short-term care needs for diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health patients, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Engage in discharge planning and patient education to ensure continuity of care post-treatment.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams across different facilities to maintain high standards of patient safety and quality.
Skills
- Proven experience in emergency room settings with exposure to Level I or Level II trauma centers preferred.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/10) is advantageous.
- Strong critical care skills including ICU experience, trauma medicine, acute pain management, and infectious disease care.
- Knowledge of advanced procedures such as cardiac catheterization, dialysis support, ostomy care, and sonography.
- Ability to perform complex nursing tasks including IV insertion, phlebotomy, sterile processing techniques, and medical documentation.
- Excellent assessment skills combined with physiology knowledge for accurate diagnosis and intervention.
- Experience working with diverse populations including pediatric patients (neonatal ventilators), elderly (geriatrics), hospice & palliative medicine patients, and those requiring behavioral health support.
- Familiarity with occupational health protocols, Workers' Compensation law considerations, and post-acute care practices.
- Strong communication skills for effective patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
