Job Description: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – Contract

Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a contract assignment in a Skilled Nursing Facility. The COTA will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to support residents in improving functional independence and performance in activities of daily living.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing individualized occupational therapy treatment plans
  • Provide therapeutic activities focused on ADLs, strength, coordination, and functional mobility
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate updates to the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Document treatments accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to support patient outcomes
  • Ensure patient safety and adherence to rehabilitation protocols

Required Qualifications

  • Active California COTA license (must be current)
  • Minimum 1 year of COTA experience
  • Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) experience required
  • Experience with Rehab Optima (NetHealth) documentation system required
  • Strong communication, time-management, and patient care skills

  • Bilingual skills not required
  • EMR system: Rehab Optima (NetHealth)
