Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced First Assist to support surgeons during operative procedures at Barberton Campus. The role involves direct intraoperative assistance, patient safety responsibilities, and close collaboration with the perioperative team under RN supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during procedures including exposure, hemostasis, suturing, tissue manipulation, wound closure, and dressing application
• Maintain patient safety and care throughout surgical procedures
• Facilitate communication between surgeons, perioperative staff, and hospital departments
• Collaborate effectively with OR staff, physicians, and patient families
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to hospital policies

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited First Assisting program
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
• Completion of required clinical experience during education
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Ability to work independently and as part of a surgical team
