Description
1) Assesses and responds to the individual physical, psychosocial, anq spiritual needs of the patient through personal observation and interaction. Acts as a patient advocate.
2) Utilizes professional nursing skills and judgment; takes action to implement nursing care and treat the problems identified.
3) Communicates patient assessments to the appropriate individuals ensuring the coordination of patient care.
4) Demonstrates knowledge of diagnostic measures such as labs, radiology, EKG. Demonstrates skills, in IV therapy.
5) Provides appropriate and knowledgeable instruction/education to the patients and their families.
6) Transcribes and implements physicians' orders in an accurate and timely manner while admitting patient to the surgical center efficiently.
7) Familiar with anesthesia supplies; assists with nerve blocks; knows location of crash cart, MH cart, and medications that may be needed in an emergency.
8)Participates in committee meetings, offers suggestions for improvements, and seeks guidance and direction when needed.
