Unit Specifics:
· Number of Beds : 29
· Patient Ratios : 1:6
· Unit staffing description- RNs.
· Type of equipment : i-mobile phones for each care team member, Mobile computer workstation on wheels, mobilab for lab drawers, alaris iv pumps
· Documentation system: Meditech
· Scheduling requirements: 3 - 12 hour shifts per week to include every other weekend
· Floating policy: Travelers are the first to float. Any traveler could be sent to the emergency department to care for inpatients holds. Could be floated in work in the telemetry monitoring room or PCU.
· Patient Experience requirements: Bedside shift report is our method of patient hand off, AIDET and RN/MD rounding
Hospital Specifics-
· Certifications: BLS & ACLS
Hiring profile
Requested Skill Set: One previous successful travel nursing assignment, 30 months RN or LPN nursing experience
Must have: Ability to care for 6 Telemetry patients/ post cardiac procedures to include: PCI, PPM, ICD or Ablations. Proficient in reading telemetry strips. Time management to include plans of care every shift, collaboration with physicians and ancillary departments. Discharge planning and patient education.
Advanced skills needed:
· Phlebotomy
· Nurses administer breathing treatments outside of the ICU (Respiratory treatments: inhalers and nebulizers)
· Foley Catheter care and maintenance (with nurse driven protocols for removal)
· Telemetry and Post Cath Lab patients
· Management of Cardiac Drips (Cardizem, Amio, Nitro, Dobutamine)
Procedures performed on unit:
Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS required, NIH stroke scale certification required.
Dress Code: (Required uniform)
· Navy uniform
