Job Overview

Portneuf Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Stepdown/Telemetry assignment. This is a 13-week travel contract supporting a 24-bed unit that provides intermediate-level care for complex cardiac, stroke, and medical patients. The facility is a Comprehensive Stroke Center, Level II Trauma Center, and Chest Pain Accredited, with the capability to manage PCI and open-heart surgery patients.

Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (6 weekend shifts per contract)

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to PCU-level patients
Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to emergencies
Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration required)
Administer blood products and medications safely
Perform IV therapy and phlebotomy
Maintain and manage central and peripheral lines
Utilize Rapid Response and Code Teams when appropriate
Adhere to isolation precautions and hospital protocols
Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams

Requirements & Qualifications

License: Active RN license (compact or Idaho)
Experience: Minimum 1 year PCU or equivalent experience

- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS

Skills (Preferred)

IV therapy / Phlebotomy
Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
Management of dysrhythmias
Blood product administration
Non-invasive airway management

100-Mile Radius Rule:
Travelers must live at least 100 miles from the facility. Local candidates within 100 miles are not eligible.
