Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled PRN Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) to support patients with mental health and behavioral needs. The Behavioral RN provides safe, therapeutic, and patient-centered nursing care in collaboration with an interdisciplinary treatment team.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments and monitor patient status
• Administer medications and monitor for therapeutic and adverse effects
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and support staff
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, policies, and regulations
• Support patients and families with education and emotional support

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in [State]
• Minimum [1–2] years of behavioral health, psychiatric, or related nursing experience preferred
• BLS certification required (ACLS preferred, if applicable)
• Strong assessment, communication, and de-escalation skills
• Ability to work independently in a PRN capacity

Preferred Experience

• Inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health settings
• Crisis stabilization, detox, or substance use treatment
• Trauma-informed care experience
