Description
Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist
Job Summary
Provides advanced procedural and radiologic support to physicians in a sterile environment. Assists with pre- and post-procedural patient care, maintains equipment and supplies, documents procedures in Epic, and participates in on-call rotations as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist physicians during interventional radiology procedures, including pre- and post-procedural patient care
- Scrub and support all non-cardiac interventional procedures
- Monitor patients receiving moderate sedation and provide comfort measures as needed
- Document all procedural events and patient care accurately in Epic
- Operate and troubleshoot specialized imaging and interventional equipment
- Participate in Universal Protocol and ensure informed consent is obtained
- Maintain aseptic environment, manage supplies, and ensure equipment readiness
- Support new technology implementation and attend vendor in-services
Procedures Supported
Mechanical thrombectomy, angioplasty, stent placement, biopsies, line placements, thrombolysis, embolization, coil placement, drainage catheters, IVC filters, and other non-cardiac interventional procedures.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 6 months of related experience
- Strong knowledge of moderate sedation
- Proficiency with interventional catheters and equipment
- Basic computer skills and Epic documentation experience preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to wear lead aprons for extended periods
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
Certifications
- ARRT – Registered Radiologic Technologist
- BLS (AHA)
Preferred Qualifications
- Epic EMR experience
- Level I Trauma experience
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
