American Consultants is looking for a travel L&D nurse for a small critical access hospital in North Dakota. Great pay at $3700/week.

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Travel Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will provide exceptional nursing care to expectant mothers and their newborns in various healthcare settings. Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor the health status of mothers and newborns throughout the labor and delivery process.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Administer medications, including IV infusions, and perform necessary medical procedures such as suturing and catheterization.
• Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems for accurate documentation of patient information and care provided.
• Educate patients and families on labor processes, pain management options, and post-delivery care.
• Maintain compliance with infection control protocols and ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations.
• Provide support in high-acuity situations, utilizing critical care skills as needed.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes within the labor and delivery unit.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in obstetric nursing.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with a focus on Labor and Delivery nursing.
• Minimum of two years of experience in labor and delivery or related acute care settings.
• Proficient in using EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner for patient documentation.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology related to obstetric care.
• Experience with triage processes, acute pain management, and emergency medicine is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards for accurate medical documentation.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
