Description

Licensure & Certification:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon (unencumbered).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
Experience & Knowledge:
- Knowledge of cardiac physiology, EKG interpretation, and cardiovascular medications.
- Ability to respond to cardiac emergencies and provide immediate nursing interventions.
Skills:
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to provide patient education regarding cardiac stress testing procedures.
Job-Specific Requirements:
- Perform exercise and pharmacologic cardiac stress tests under supervision of a cardiologist.
- Conduct pre-test patient assessments (history, vitals, medications, contraindications).
- Monitor EKG leads, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and other physiologic indicators during testing.
- Administer medications used in stress testing per RN licensure authority.
- Document procedures, patient responses, and clinical data in the EMR.
- Ensure equipment functionality and readiness; troubleshoot minor issues.
- Collaborate with cardiologists, technologists, and diagnostic imaging teams.
- Maintain compliance with Joint Commission standards, state nursing acts, and departmental policies.
