Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) to support patients and families within the Obstetrics unit. The Social Worker will manage complex psychosocial and economic needs, assist with discharge planning, provide crisis intervention, and serve as a liaison between the hospital and community resources while delivering patient- and family-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and manage complex psychosocial, emotional, and economic needs
• Educate patients and families on available community and healthcare resources
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement discharge plans
• Support OB patients and families in coping with diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis
• Provide crisis intervention and counseling as needed
• Advocate for patients and connect them with appropriate services
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with hospital policies
• Promote patient- and family-centered care and positive patient experiences

✅ Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of Social Worker experience – REQUIRED
• Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution – REQUIRED
• Experience with OB population – REQUIRED
• Active Michigan LMSW License – REQUIRED
• BLS (AHA) – REQUIRED
• COVID-19 Vaccination – REQUIRED
