Description

Job Description – Cardiac/Vascular Sonographer

Summary:
Performs diagnostic cardiac and/or vascular ultrasound to deliver accurate imaging and measurements for physician diagnosis. Provides timely preliminary reports of critical findings and assists physicians during complex interventional procedures across multiple clinical settings.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform adult and/or pediatric echo, TEE, stress echo, and vascular studies
Assist with advanced procedures (OR, Cath Lab, Hybrid Lab, CAD), including TAVR, SAVR, TandemHeart, LARIAT, and pseudoaneurysm compression
Review patient history, operate ultrasound equipment, and ensure optimal image quality
Communicate abnormal/critical results promptly to physicians and care teams
Maintain accurate documentation, charging, QA participation, and compliance with policies
Support departmental efficiency, scheduling, infection control, and patient safety

Required Skills & Experience:

Minimum 6 months related experience
Strong critical thinking, communication, and independent working ability
On-call availability as required

Education:

High School Diploma or GED
Preferred: Graduate of Diagnostic Medical or Cardiac Ultrasound program

Certification & Licensure:

RDCS/RVT (ARDMS) or RCS/RVS (CCI)
BLS required
