RN – Inpatient Rehabilitation | Night Shift

Location: Illinois | 13-Week Contract

We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for an Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit on the night shift. This is a contract opportunity at a well-respected non-profit healthcare system known for excellence in patient care and professional growth

Job Details

Job Title: RN – Inpatient Rehab
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Start Date: 02/16/2026
Job Type: Contract
Schedule:
- Every 3rd weekend (Friday & Saturday nights)
- Sunday nights considered part of the regular workweek (some flexibility available)

Unit Overview

Unit Type: Inpatient Rehabilitation (Acute Rehab)
Provides care similar to a medical-surgical floor
No Heparin drips
High neuro patient population
Stroke certification is a plus, not required

Key Responsibilities

Assess patients’ mental, physical, and psychosocial needs
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team
Educate patients and families on care plans and treatments
Use sound clinical judgment to recognize and report changes in patient condition
Maintain accurate and complete medical documentation
Participate in continuing education
Promote a positive and professional work environment

Requirements

Active Illinois RN license
Current BLS/CPR certification
Experience in rehabilitation, neuro, or medical-surgical nursing preferred
Strong communication and clinical assessment skills
