Description
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Jail Vaccination Program (Contract)
Knoxville, TN (Hybrid | Travel Required)
Contract Details
- Contract Duration: 02/02/2026 – 07/01/2026
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Travel Required: 40–60% (within Knox County, East & Northeast TN)
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct vaccination clinics within county jails
- Educate incarcerated individuals on vaccinations and viral hepatitis prevention
- Properly store, transport, and administer vaccines per CDC guidelines
- Complete and maintain electronic and paper patient health records
- Accurately document patient care and services provided
- Track and report vaccination numbers and educational materials distributed
- Maintain patient health files and legal records of service
- Participate in program calls and meetings with supervisors and viral hepatitis teams
- Communicate effectively with internal and external partners
Minimum Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
- Licensed in Tennessee or eligible through the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
- Valid driver’s license (required due to travel)
- Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

The Viral Hepatitis Program within TDH’s Communicable and Environmental Diseases and Emergency Preparedness (CEDEP) division works to:
Reduce viral hepatitis infection, morbidity, and mortality
Improve access to prevention, testing, and treatment
Address health disparities across Tennessee communities
Strengthen disease surveillance and outbreak response
