UNIT: Surg Tech  

***CLINICAL INTERVIEW UNIT***

Minimum exp required: 3-5 years in a hospital setting, must have strong general and ENT skills. 
Must have exp in the following areas: Neuro (cranis) & trauma

- Previous travel exp & level 1 trauma exp required
- PEDs experience preferred

Floating requirements: Potential to Surgicenter if needed

On Call/Call-Back: Call is a minimum of 1 weekday per week and every 4th weekend (Friday end of shift-Monday 0700).  Call response time is 30 minutes.

Orientation: 2 weeks of M-F 0650-1520 for orientation

Weekends: Rotate every other weekend as needed
Holidays: holiday coverage as needed; Can include in house coverage, on call (beeper) coverage or working for any shift as needed.

Required certifications: AHA BLS; CST preferred, not required

Unit Specific Skillset: 14 OR’s and 3 Special Procedure rooms (GI, oncology, dental) ENT, ortho, urology, gen. surg, craniofacial/plastics, neuro, eyes. Summer 2025 - facility is seeing a lot of traumas. Highest surgical volume is currently from 5p-7p.

In House on Call: In the event a full-time team member calls out sick or is on PTO, the traveler may be asked to provide in-house on-call coverage. While this is infrequent, the traveler must be prepared to stay overnight at the hospital if requested. They will receive regular hourly pay while onsite or resting and will be eligible for callback pay if called in to assist with a procedure.

Scrub Colors: provided by facility
Jewelry (body piercing/body adornment): A single small stud is now permitted to be worn in the nose. No other visible body piercing (e.g. tongue, eyebrow, lips and gauges) are acceptable (except ear piercings). Flesh colored or clear piercing plugs may now be worn.

**Flu vaccine required. NO EXEMPTIONS. Covid Vaccine no longer required.**
Traveler is guaranteed set hours per week, except during holidays where the unit is closed and orientation week.
