Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Varied Shifts

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-acuity patient care in a critical care setting. The ideal candidate will have strong intensive care experience, clinical expertise, and flexibility to work variable shifts based on staffing needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients
  • Monitor patient conditions, interpret vital signs, and respond to changes promptly
  • Administer medications, treatments, and therapies per physician orders
  • Perform and assist with critical care procedures
  • Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
  • Float to other critical care or step-down units as needed

Required Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of recent ICU experience

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active Hawaii RN License
    • Candidates without an active license must apply upon offer acceptance and must have the license by assignment start
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification
    • Certification must be submitted or completed via a brief online course during orientation

Schedule & Shifts

  • Must be flexible to work day or night shifts, determined per roster period
  • 3 x 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours) following orientation
  • On-call requirement: 2 x 12-hour call shifts per 4-week roster period

Unit Details

  • ICU Unit Size: 11 beds
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 2:1
  • Floating: May float to other critical care or step-down units as needed

Orientation & Dress Code

  • Orientation: Up to 1 week (up to 40 hours)
  • Dress Code: Professional scrubs

Additional Requirements

  • Holiday coverage required
  • Must be available to arrive prior to assignment start for pre-employment health and onboarding requirements
