MedSurg RN – Floor 6 (MedSol Prescreen / Manager Interview Required) Beds: 35 Ratios: 1:4–5, acuity-based using real-time acuity tool Certifications: BLS Patient Population: High-acuity, multi-specialty surgical unit Bariatric (Center of Excellence), Urology (TURP, cysto, prostatectomy, CBI), Colorectal Vascular (AAA repair, endarterectomy, fem-pop bypass) Acute Care Surgery, GYN (hysterectomies) Plastics/Breast Reconstruction (mastectomies) CF and medical patients; also Whipple & Pectus surgeries Experience & Skills Required: 2+ years MedSurg Must be proficient: Central lines, NG tubes, ostomies, drains, professional communication Preferred: Foley & CBI management Drips: No titration; heparin only Support & Staffing Charge Nurse: No assignment; strong leadership support (ANMs, manager, 24/7 coverage) CNAs: 1:8–10 Tele: Remote monitoring; RNs must read strips RT: CPAP, high flow; BiPAP occasional (BiPAP-dependent patients transferred) Scheduling & Logistics Shifts: 12s, 7a–7p / 7p–7a; scheduler places travelers after core staff; aims for 3 nights in a row when possible Weekends: Every other (may increase if needed) Holidays: As needed Call: None Floating: To like MedSurg units at Meridian & Nampa Medical Centers; travelers first to float (not frequent) Scrubs: Any clean, professional color Orientation: 1 unit shift + 1 didactic day with educator (after hospital orientation) Radius Rule: 50 miles — permanent address required at submission to verify eligibility.
