Job Summary

This position is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the Respiratory Care process of assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating. The RRT collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective, efficient patient care delivery towards the achievement of desired patient outcomes. This is a travel assignment at facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care within the Respiratory Care process.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Deliver high-quality respiratory care services in accordance with established protocols and standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and progress.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices in respiratory care.

Experience and Certification Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • Previous travel experience required.
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (all from AHA) are required and must be in hand prior to starting.
  • Active RRT credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Active Respiratory Care licensure from the New Jersey Board of Respiratory Care.

  • First Day Instructions/Orientation:
    • Failure to complete the full orientation will result in immediate termination. Once scheduled, candidates do not have the option to reschedule any classes.
    • Candidates will receive an email directly from facility the Friday before their Monday start date. This email will include:
      • Instructions for signing on to the Virtual Welcome meeting and online Health Stream Module from Human Resources, to be completed prior to 8:30 AM on Monday.
      • On Monday, the GEO (General Employee Orientation) will be virtual from the candidate's own computer. All assigned modules must be completed by Monday, or the candidate will be removed from the orientation list.
      • In-person class schedule: Typically held Tuesday through Thursday at multiple locations. The exact location may not be listed in the original email; candidates must use HealthStream to determine the class location on the day of the class. *Note: The POCT (Point-of-Care Testing) class is required but is not held during orientation week.
      • Unit-based orientation schedule, as assigned by the manager.
      • Badge ID Link: Instructions on how to make an in-person appointment to receive the ID badge. Photo submissions are not permitted. This must be completed during orientation, as the badge is required for clock-ins.
