Job Description:
Unit: 5N Postpartum
Shift: Nights, 7:00pm-7:30am (NO block scheduling).
Floating Required: No
Must have acute care experience.
Must work every other weekend.
Must work every other major holiday.
Flu vaccine required during season.
Scrub Color: Scrubs are provided.
Unit Specifics:
Common patient diagnosis: Post vaginal delivery; post c-section delivery; intermittent post-partum magnesium or postpartum hemorrhage
Required Drips & Medications: IV antibiotics; IV magnesium intermittently, PRBC; rhogam, lovenox
Specialty Equipment: Welch Allyn blood pressure; Nihon Khoden; venodynm machine; IV pump; panda warmer; Medela Breast pump
Patients: Newborn
Number of Beds in the Unit: 13 Postpartum and 4 Continuing Care Nursery
1+ year(s) of experience in Postpartum.
Current AHA BLS & NRP required.
Lactation certification preferred.
EMR Exp Preferred: EPIC
