Job Summary
Registered Nurse – Outpatient Phase 2 Cardiac Rehab. Provides cardiac patient therapy in a supervised gym setting, including monitoring EKGs, vital signs, developing care plans, patient education, and wellness goal setting. Works collaboratively with medical directors and staff to ensure patient safety, program quality, and compliance with AACVPR, AHA, and ACC guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and monitoring during outpatient Phase 2 cardiac rehab sessions (EKG, vital signs, exercise supervision).
• Develop individualized care plans and set wellness goals for patients.
• Educate patients on cardiac health, rehabilitation, and lifestyle modifications.
• Collaborate with medical director and interdisciplinary team for patient care coordination.
• Complete charting, follow-up calls with patients and providers, and administrative tasks outside of direct patient care.
• Ensure compliance with AACVPR certification standards and quality metrics.
• Maintain safety and emergency preparedness in the gym environment.
• Support the outpatient gym operation, ensuring minimum staffing requirements are met (at least one RN on full gym days).

Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
• Experience in cardiac rehab, telemetry, or similar cardiovascular patient care preferred.

Licenses & Certifications

• Active RN license.
• BLS (AHA) required.
• ACLS (AHA) preferred.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ASN or BSN preferred).

Shift Details

• Preferred schedule: 4 × 10-hour shifts/week, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
• Flexibility for 8-hour shifts if needed.
