EMT / Paramedic Director
Full-Time | Immediate Opening
About the Department
We are a 24-hour EMS Department serving our community with professionalism, compassion, and clinical excellence. Our operation averages 500–550 EMS calls annually and is supported by four fully equipped ambulances, two on-call EMS staff at all times, and an EMS traveling company that supplements staffing as needed.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated EMT or Paramedic leader to step into a Director-level role with autonomy, impact, and community connection.
Position Summary
The EMT/Paramedic Director provides clinical leadership, operational oversight, and direct patient care for the EMS Department. This role combines administrative responsibility with hands-on emergency response, training, and incident command duties.
Schedule
- Monday – Thursday
- 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM (10-hour shifts)
- Weekend rotation (details discussed during interview)
- No on-call requirement for this position
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care as a licensed Emergency Medical Care Provider
- Serve as Medical Incident Commander during multi-patient or large-scale incidents within a unified command structure
- Oversee daily EMS operations, staffing coordination, and readiness
- Operate emergency vehicles safely and effectively
- Utilize two-way radio systems to communicate with dispatch, hospitals, and responding agencies
- Train and teach EMT and EMR students
- Complete accurate and timely patient care reports using ImageTrend
- Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and sensitivity in all patient and coworker interactions
- Maintain effective verbal and written communication with medical staff, leadership, and partner agencies
Required Qualifications
- Current National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification in good standing
- Current Montana EMS license
- Minimum of 3 years field experience as an EMT or higher-level Emergency Care Provider
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to operate emergency vehicles
