Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room

Location: Syracuse, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Position: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)
• Shift: 12N (1900-0730)
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Schedule: Every Other Week (EOW) & Every Other Holiday (EOH)
• No on-call required
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) system: Epic
• Must be willing to travel at least 75 miles from home (no local contracts)

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – American Heart Association certification required
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required for Emergency Department RNs; ENPC certificate also acceptable

Licensure & Compliance

• Current RN license verification dated within 30 days of start
• Fit Test (specific to mask type)
• Specialty-specific competency testing completed within the last year
• Various professional and compliance forms required (e.g., Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Conflict of Interest Disclosure, Criminal Background Check, Employment Verification, Joint Commission Testing, etc.)
• Drug Screen: 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical/Health Statement confirming fitness to work (exam within last year)
• Immunizations:

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – proof of 2 vaccinations or IgG titer
  • Hepatitis B – must have started vaccination series prior to start (titers not accepted)
  • Varicella – proof of vaccination or IgG titer
  • Tdap – current, non-expired vaccine (declinations accepted if no pediatric interaction)
  • COVID-19 Vaccine – proof of vaccine, booster, declination, or exemption (declination not accepted in CA or IL)
  • Influenza Vaccine – proof of vaccine, declination, or exemption (declination not accepted in CA or IL)

Experience Requirements

• Specialty: RN Emergency Room
• Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum experience consistent with typical ED RN roles (generally 1+ years)
• Prior travel experience: Not required
