Description
Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room
Location: Syracuse, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Position: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)
- Shift: 12N (1900-0730)
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Schedule: Every Other Week (EOW) & Every Other Holiday (EOH)
- No on-call required
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) system: Epic
- Must be willing to travel at least 75 miles from home (no local contracts)
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association certification required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – American Heart Association certification required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required for Emergency Department RNs; ENPC certificate also acceptable
Licensure & Compliance
- Current RN license verification dated within 30 days of start
- Fit Test (specific to mask type)
- Specialty-specific competency testing completed within the last year
- Various professional and compliance forms required (e.g., Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Conflict of Interest Disclosure, Criminal Background Check, Employment Verification, Joint Commission Testing, etc.)
- Drug Screen: 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical/Health Statement confirming fitness to work (exam within last year)
- Immunizations:
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – proof of 2 vaccinations or IgG titer
- Hepatitis B – must have started vaccination series prior to start (titers not accepted)
- Varicella – proof of vaccination or IgG titer
- Tdap – current, non-expired vaccine (declinations accepted if no pediatric interaction)
- COVID-19 Vaccine – proof of vaccine, booster, declination, or exemption (declination not accepted in CA or IL)
- Influenza Vaccine – proof of vaccine, declination, or exemption (declination not accepted in CA or IL)
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: RN Emergency Room
- Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum experience consistent with typical ED RN roles (generally 1+ years)
- Prior travel experience: Not required
