Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Utica, New York

Position Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Location: Utica, New York
  • Unit: IMCU - 5th Floor
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Requirements

  • Licenses & Certifications:
    • New York RN License
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • NIH Stroke Certification
    • Epic Electronic Health Record experience (required)
    • Harassment Prevention Training Certificate (New York)
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2 years of RN experience
    • Drip experience including neo up to 100, precedex, and insulin at IMCU level of care
  • Competencies:
    • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score)
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for ICU, PCU, ER, CT ICU, and 7th Floor M/S Unit; expires every 3 years)
    • Color Blind Testing (required prior to start)
    • Competency Exam (minimum 80% or meet Angoff score)
  • Other:
    • Return to Office (RTO) within 7 days or less, with only 1 holiday allowed
    • IMCU nurse-to-patient ratio typically 4:1, may be 5:1 depending on acuity

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Fit Mask test within 1 year and updated annually (specific mask types required)
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 1 year (PPD, Quantiferon Gold accepted; Tspot not accepted)
  • Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
    • Varicella (titer, vaccine, or history of chickenpox)
  • Drug Testing: 9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year of start
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or Declination (required during flu season)
  • Pneumonia Vaccination or Declination (required)

Documentation & Compliance

  • Government issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
  • Emergency Contact Form (required prior to start)
  • Background Checks including:
    • 7-year search of locations lived/worked/schooled
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM (annual)
    • HHS/OIG (annual)
    • Education Verification
  • Facility-specific documents including:
    • Photo for badge (headshot, plain background)
    • Online learning modules completed prior to first shift
    • Signed Job Description and Welcome Packet acknowledgment
    • Omnicell Form (for nursing staff)
    • Pneumococcal Declination form if declining vaccine
  • References:
    • 2 professional references for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles (within 3 years)
    • 1 professional reference for per diem non-acute care roles

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
