Job Opportunity: CST/ORT - OR (Travel Position)

Location: Winchester, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Role: Surgical Technologist (Tech)
• Specialty: CST/ORT (Certified Surgical Technologist / Operating Room Tech)
• Shift: Details provided upon hiring
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours
• Weekend Hours: Every other weekend / as needed
• Call Requirements: One night per week and every fifth weekend; call response time is 30 minutes
• Float Requirements: As needed

Facility & Unit Information

• Acute and skilled care facility with 131 acute beds and 26 skilled care/nursing home beds
• Features include:

  • 10-bed ICU
  • 12-bed Geriatric Psychiatry Unit
  • 12-bed Acute Inpatient Physical Rehabilitation Unit
  • Skilled Nursing Unit
  • Sleep Lab, Cardiac Cath Lab
  • Five OR Suites and two Endoscopy Suites
  • 13-bay Emergency Room with over 15,000 annual visits
• Unit Beds: 3
• Patient Ratios: 1:1
• Patient Population: Serves all ages
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) system: CQI

Requirements

• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technician (CST) Certification required to work as a CST in Tennessee
• Experience: Minimum 1+ years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
• Skills & Responsibilities:

  • Previous CST experience required
  • Experience with orthopedic joint and general surgery cases
  • Room turnover and occasional terminal cleaning of OR suites
  • Decontamination and reprocessing of surgical instruments and endoscopes
  • Assisting staff in central sterile processing
• Personality Fit: Professional demeanor required

Additional Information

• Orientation is held weekly on Mondays
• Dress Code: Scrubs of any color allowed; casual wear is not acceptable
• Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
