Job Overview for Healthcare Recruiters and Workers

Position Details

  • Specialty: Surgical Services
  • Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
  • Facility: Ochsner Medical Center (part of Vaya Ochsner)
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years at a Level I or II hospital.
  • Certifications Required:
    • CRCST or CSPDT
    • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
    • BLS - Basic Life Support
    • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (if applicable)
    • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (if applicable)
    • TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course (if applicable)
    • EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring (for L&D RNs)
    • Tech Cert Verification - National (for specific tech roles)
    • State License Verification (active LA License or Compact License required)
    • NURSYS Verification (for RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
    • CPI - Crisis Prevention Institute (specific to certain specialties)

Additional Information

  • Documentation Required:

    • Current/valid Driver's License or State ID (color copy)
    • Background Check (7-year criminal background check)
    • Drug Testing (10 Panel Drug Screen)
    • Health Documents (including TB testing, vaccinations, and physical exam)
    • Skills Checklist (updated annually)
    • Employment Application and Resume
  • Health Requirements:

    • COVID-19 Vaccination (fully vaccinated prior to start)
    • Seasonal Flu Vaccination (for the current flu season)
