• 12-Hour Day Shifts
• 36 or 48 Guaranteed Hours
• Every Other Weekend & Holiday
• No Call / No Call-Back

🏥 Unit Overview

Join a 22-bed Neuro Med-Surg/Telemetry unit providing specialized care to neuro and neuro-surgical patients in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Charge Nurse takes a patient assignment
• Float: Medical unit only (as needed)
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue

👩‍⚕️ Patient Population

• CVAs / Stroke patients
• Neuro & Neuro-Surgical cases
• Elective back & neck surgeries
• Cerebral angiograms
• General medical overflow patients

✅ Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN License
• AHA BLS, ACLS & NIHSS (must be attached at submission)
• Minimum 2 years strong Med-Surg/Telemetry experience
• Neuro experience required
• At least 1 prior travel assignment
• Recent EPIC charting experience

🧩 Required Skills & Competencies

• NIHSS & dysphagia screening
• Strong neuro assessments & clinical judgment
• Basic telemetry interpretation
• Initiation & titration of heparin gtts
• Blood & blood product administration
• Venipuncture & blood cultures
• NG tube insertion & management
• Foley & straight catheterization
• Indwelling drain management
• Strict I&Os
• Stable drips (Protonix, Lasix, etc.)
