Description
Job Description:
• Certifications: Active ASCP or AMT (required at submittal), BLS
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field
• Experience: Minimum 3 years clinical laboratory experience; strong Microbiology background preferred
• Perform all levels of testing including CLIA-defined high complexity testing
• Provide full-scope laboratory services including Microbiology, Transfusion Medicine, Molecular Biology, and Infectious Disease testing
• Interpret, evaluate, and validate test results to ensure accuracy and patient safety
• Perform blood bank testing including antibody identification and compatibility testing
• Maintain laboratory equipment, quality control programs, and performance standards
• Write and update laboratory procedures in CLSI format
• Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission, and regulatory standards
• Train and support laboratory staff, students, and new employees
• EMR/LIS experience required (Meditech)
• Ability to work independently and make critical, patient-impacting decisions
