50 mile radius rule - ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST INCLUDE A COPY OF CANDIDATE'S UNEXPIRED DRIVER'S LICENSE LICENSING HITS MUST BE DISCLOSED AT TIME OF SUBMISSION - # of Beds: "Will be expected to multiple units of varying acuity levels. Would only float to ED or CCU if within their skillset. - CCU- 10 beds - IMC- 30 beds - MS Level 7- 27 beds - MS Level 8- 48 beds - Skilled Care- 33 beds - ED- 15 Beds - Nurse:Patient Ratios: "Patient ratios vary depending on the unit: - CCU- 1:2-3 - IMC- 1:4-6 - MS Level 7- 1:5-6 - MS Level 8- 1:5-8 - Skilled Care- 1:8-10 - ED- (we haven't done unit discovery, but will fill in after we do)" - Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?): "BLS, ACLS, if working in CCU or ED" - Common diagnoses/Types of patients Nstemi, Pneumonia, Sepsis, Diabetes, Heart Disease. Diverticulitis, and more - Experience or 'Must have' skills: "Must have 5 years of experience Prefer someone with 1 year of ICU experience or 1 year of ED experience Ideally an ICU/Stepdown traveler that is comfortable floating to lower acuity units. Must be comfortable taking ratios from 1:2-10 Looking for someone who is Flexible, Adatable, has Multi-functional expertise, and good Problem solving skills. " - Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes if working in ED, CCU - Traveler would be expected to manager all critical drips. - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin - Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift & on each unit? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Yes, Charge may take an assignment as needed - Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on the units? Ratios? Duties?: "Ratios 1: 7-15 - Typical Job Duties: ADLS, vitals, bathing, toileting, feeding, repositioning, answering call lights, blood sugars" - RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot? RT assigned to multiple units, but will administer breathing tx and manage any resp equipment (Vents, trachs, bipap, cpap, airvo); nurses are expected to be able to troubleshoot equipment - Are there tele/monitor techs on the units? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: Yes, Monitor tech available 24/7. Nurses expected to be able to read and interpret tele. Will be expected to print strips, perform measurments, and idenity rhythms. - Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): "Sellf Scheduling - 3 12 hours shifts/Week Travelers will be asked to submit their ideal schedule to manager, however, nothing is finalized until the schedule has been balanced. Travelers are expected to be flexible and help fill gaps in permanent staffing. Schedule made out for 4 weeks at a time." - Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend - Holiday Requirements "May be asked to go in the Holiday Rotation, Split between Group A and Group B " - Is there a call or standby requirement?: No - How are units assigned? i.e. via text message, daily sheet assignments, set schedule?: "Will received their assignment via Text Message within 2 hrs prior to shift start. Travelers will be asked to clock in on assigned unit for cost-center and fill out time sheet daily. " - Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy Blue - How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation? "1 day of orientation and 1 day with a preceptor. Will only receive orientation to 1 unit before being asked to go on their own.
