Description
Travel Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT)
A hospital in Oklahoma City, OK is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) for a 13-week travel contract to support the Respiratory Care Department due to an FMLA/LOA opening. This role provides respiratory therapy services across all appropriate age groups in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Assignment Details:
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Schedule: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekly Pay: $2,506
Responsibilities:
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments as prescribed by medical staff
- Perform invasive and non-invasive diagnostic testing and patient monitoring
- Document treatments and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record
- Provide age-appropriate respiratory care to assigned patients
- Respond as part of the rapid response/code team for cardiac and respiratory arrests
- Maintain, clean, and ensure proper functioning of respiratory therapy equipment
- Serve as a clinical resource to physicians and interdisciplinary staff
- Maintain required respiratory therapy documentation and records
- Follow hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control guidelines
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program
- Active Oklahoma Respiratory Care Practitioner license
- NBRC credential (RRT required within 12 months if not already held)
- BLS (AHA) required
- ACLS required within 3 months of hire
- Ability to work effectively in high-stress, critical care environments
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting
