• Unit: Medical/Surgical
• Number of Beds on Unit: 19
• Patient Ratios: 1:5
• Patient Population: Primarily geriatric and adults; very few pediatric patients (3-4 per year)
• Equipment: Welch Allyn vital machines, Masimo bedside monitors, Careview, telemetry, Sara Stedy, ARJO lift
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Medhost

• Weekend Hours: Rotate every other weekend (may increase based on need)
• Call Requirements: Yes, depending on census; staff may be placed on call or floated
• Float Requirements: Yes, float to medical detox, ICU, OB, or ER (task assignments for OB and ER); may take low-level med/surg overflow patients in ICU with a ratio of 1:3
• Orientation: Weekly on Mondays
• Dress Code: Any scrub color; print scrubs are not acceptable

Requirements

• Licensure: Must hold a valid RN license to practice in Tennessee
• Certifications Required Prior to Start:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in Medical/Surgical nursing (higher value taken from 1-2+ range)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
• Additional Screening: Must be checked against the Tennessee Abuse Registry prior to assignment start
