Internal Job Description

• Job Description: Registered Nurse for Med-Surg Unit (MSU) for adult geriatrics and pediatric patients. With EXCELLENT Staffing Ratios: Non Covid: typically 4:1, max 5:1. Covid patients: typically 2:1, max 3:1.

• Required Certifications: American Heart Association BLS, ACLS. and PALS is required.

• Experience: Three (3) years of med-surg experience, 1 year pediatric experience required, MUST BE COMFORTABLE WITH BOTH ADULT AND PEDIATRIC PATIENTS.

• Setting: 20 bed medical surgical unit for adults and pediatrics

• Shift: 12 hour shifts, (Shift will be assigned) but must be flexible to work other shifts, weekends and holidays, as needed. In addition to inpatient, may be assigned to help cover Flu Immunization clinics as needed. Travelers are expected to attend staff meetings.

• Housing: Information can be found under the 'Facility Group Document section.

• Orientation: on Mondays only - If your traveler misses the compliance deadline, they will be pushed to the following scheduled New Employee Orientation.

• Other: Travelers are occasionally expected to float to other departments in which they are qualified to work. This could include taking a patient load if experienced and competent in that setting or could be task-oriented such as answering call lights, phones, etc
