POSITION
========
Respiratory Therapist – NICU/Pediatrics ***Only seeking candidates with prior NICU & Peds experience***
SCHEDULING DETAILS AND CHARTING
===============================
• Shift hours: 4x12s, 7p-7a.
• Charting: EPIC experience required
• Weekend Requirement: May be EOW or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• Accept First-Time Travelers: Yes. (1 year travel experience preferred)
• Locals Accepted? Radius Rule: Yes, locals accepted.
• Pending License Accepted: Yes. Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner by the VA State Board of Medicine required. **Other state licenses accepted, but will be required to obtain 90 day temporary authorization while VA perm license issues
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
=======================
• BLS, NRP, PALS
• RRT: Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• CRT not accepted.
REQUIRED CLINICAL SKILLS
========================
• Advanced ventilator management including HFJV, HF oscillator, Jet, Servo I, V60, 3100A/B, and Nitric systems; skilled in troubleshooting high-pressure alarms and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Proficient in CPAP/NCPAP/BiPAP setup, extubation techniques, and all modes of invasive and non-invasive ventilation, including nitric oxide delivery
• Prior NICU and pediatric experience, with critical care background in high-volume ER, Level 1 Trauma Center, and Level 3 NICU; proficient in all treatment modalities
UNIT DETAILS AND FLOATING
==========================
• Serves neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents. Units utilize high frequency jet ventilator, bubble CPAP, oscillator, RAM cannula, and NAVA.
• Floating: Will be required to float within skillset, including Adults.
