Description
Patient Care Technician - Dialysis Outpatient Clinic
12 Months minimum recent dialysis experience required.
Certification required: Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician CCHT
Job Duties
Provide the direct, patient care for assigned patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. Responsible for accurate documentation of information related to the patient treatment.
Assist licensed nurse with pre and post dialysis patient assessments and their documentation. Monitor and document dialysis treatment parameters on Dialysis Flow Sheets. Report any significant information or change in patient condition to the supervisor. Assist with all emergency operational procedures. Initiate basic CPR measures in the event of cardiac and/or pulmonary arrest and respond to emergency situations related to dialysis treatment.
Experience
Previous patient care experience in a hospital/clinical setting or related facility preferred; Dialysis procedures/treatments and machine experience is required. Successfully complete a training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis. Successfully complete CPR Certification
Education
High school degree or G.E.D.
Education in physical sciences and/or training in laboratory techniques preferred.
Floating requirement: Client required candidates to float to area sites within 50 miles of the main site
Shift details: Shifts will be discussed in detail during the interview; the role requires a commitment of 40 hours plus overtime and floating to area sites as need be. There is a minimum guarantee of 36 hours per week. Please note you are NOT eligible for Guaranteed hours if any of the following happen:
