'Must have' skills: I would expect the traveler coming in has at least 2 solid years of CVICU experience (prefer more) with continuing to travel having ICU assignments and can take care of these patients without issue right off the bat. We cannot train for our equipment and patient population. They must be able to pick up right away. Must be able to work at a fast paced. Must be able to interpret strips. Strong assessment skills, critical thinking, communication, organization, teamwork, compassion, ability to follow protocols and orders as written, motivation, ability to work in a fast paced, high stress environment, compassion, time management, positive attitude and behavior.
