Per Diem Registered Nurse (RN) – CVICU

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced per diem Registered Nurse (RN) to support our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). This role offers scheduling flexibility while meeting the operational needs of the unit. The ideal candidate is a strong critical care nurse who is comfortable floating to like-kind units or related specialties within their scope of practice and skill set.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-acuity nursing care to CVICU patients, including post-cardiac surgery and critically ill cardiovascular patients
• Monitor hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, and patient responses to treatments
• Administer medications, titrate drips, and manage advanced life-support equipment per protocol
• Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high-quality patient care
• Float to like-kind units or related specialties as needed and within competency
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Adhere to hospital policies, patient safety standards, and infection control practices

Schedule Requirements:

• Per diem scheduling with shifts coordinated in collaboration with the unit manager
• Availability must align with the needs of the unit
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation required

Requirements:

• Active RN license
• AHA BLS AND ACLS
• Recent CVICU or critical care experience preferred
• Ability to float to similar units within scope and skill set
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
