Job Opportunity: RN - Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Location: Richlands, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Specialty

• Registered Nurse (RN) with focus on Labor & Delivery (L&D) and Nursery care
• Must be able to float to Nursery and Post-Partum units

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty (OB L&D and Nursery)
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Shift & Hours

• Shift: 7 PM to 7 AM (overnight)
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
• Weekend hours included

Unit & Patient Population

• OB unit (Level 3 OB) with low delivery volume (less than 15 deliveries per month)
• Unit includes:

  • 3 Labor & Delivery beds
  • 9 OB beds
  • 14 Nursery beds
  • 3 Intermediate Nursery beds
• Patient ratios follow A1 Guidelines
• Patient population: Obstetrics and newborns

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Intermediate fetal monitoring or above
• STABLE certification for nursery care

Additional Information

• Facility uses Meditech EHR system
• Float requirements apply if units are closed due to census
• Preferred candidates have general OB L&D and Nursery care experience
• Common diagnoses/treatments include OB delivery and newborn care

This position is ideal for RNs with solid OB L&D and nursery experience seeking a travel assignment in a Level 3 OB unit with overnight shifts.
