Job Summary – Surgical Technologist (First Assist) | Corewell Health

Facility: Butterworth Hospital OR, Grand Rapids, MI
Contract Dates: Feb 23 – May 24, 2026 (≈13 weeks)
Openings: 1
Hours: 40 hrs/week

Schedule

Shift: Days
Hours: 0700–1730 (10-hour shifts)
Weekends: None
On Call: Yes – 2 days in a rolling 4-week period
Workplace: On-site

Role & Requirements

Title: Surgical Technologist – First Assist
Experience: 2–40 years (GYN & Breast care preferred)
Certifications Required: CST, STFA, BLS (AHA or ARC)
Education: Accredited Surgical Technology program
Scrub Color: Light blue

Key Responsibilities

Maintain sterile field and prepare surgical suite
Instrument, sponge, and needle counts
Assist with patient positioning and intraoperative support
Collaborate with surgeons on preference cards and cost efficiency
Participate in safety initiatives and quality improvement
