Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 – 07:00) Unit Type: Mixed Acuity – PCU / IMC / MS Tele / MS REQUIRED: Recent PCU/IMC experience within the last 3 years. Ratios adjusted based on acuity. Experience & Candidate Requirements Minimum Experience: 1 year Traveler Experience: First-time travelers accepted Local Candidates: Not accepted (must reside 50+ miles away) Scrubs: Any solid color Required Skills MS / Telemetry / PCU / IMC / Stepdown Interpretation & management of dysrhythmias Post-MI care IV insulin protocols and titration Feeding tube care and management Continuous bladder irrigation Renal failure management Port access Blood product administration Central line care/management Phlebotomy Peripheral IV and PICC line management IV starts Heparin protocols Cardiac drips (titration required) PCA Thrombolytic agents CVA and seizure disorders Substance withdrawal Orthopedic trauma Peripheral nerve block catheters Total joint replacements, traction, mastectomy Chest tubes (Emerson / Pleur-Evac) CPAP / BiPAP, HFNC ABG interpretation Oxygen delivery systems Non-invasive airway management Tracheostomy management Isolation precautions Wound care / Wound VAC Required Certifications BLS ACLS NIHSS Preferred: PALS, TCAR Job Details Patient Ratios: Days & weekends: 1:3–5 Nights: 1:3–6 RTO: Maximum 7 days Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Floating: Required — may float to sister units (West 2, West 3, Observation Unit) Patient Population PCU and MS Tele Surgical pre- and post-op (ENT, General Surgery, Trauma, Ortho) Overflow medical patients Rare pediatric patients (travelers assigned only if experienced) Systems & Orientation EMR: EPIC Medication Dispensing: Pyxis Communication: SBAR Unit Orientation: 12 hours Shift Info: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 – 07:00)
