Description
Position / Specialty: OR Tech
Shift: 5x8 Days (0645-1515)
Avg. Daily Census: 50-60 cases/day.
Years of experience REQ: Minimum 3 years' experience required.
First-timers accepted: No.
Weekend REQ: Yes- Weekends are once a month with a total of 16 hours of obligation.
Certs REQ: BLS required, CST
Is on-call REQ? Yes- required as needed for the department.
Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Yes- will float within scope of practice.
Open to accommodating block schedule? Discuss schedule requests with manager.
RTO Restrictions: Discuss RTO with manager - all time off must be reviewed and approved by manager.
Guaranteed Hours: Client may call-off up to 36 hours per thirteen week assignment without paying for the cancelled hours. If Client cancels more hours than permitted by this section, Client will be billed for any shifts or portions thereof cancelled in excess of this section. If Candidates are placed on-call in lieu of being called off, that will count as a called-off shift.
Special Requirements: Must be in IL 3 business days prior to compliance HDD in order to meet fingerprinting requirements. Required Work Setting Experience: General OR, Teaching Hospital, Trauma. Required Ear, Nose, Throat (ENT) Case Skills/Experience: Direct Laryngoscopy, Radial neck dissection, Tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, Tracheostomy. Required Endoscopic Procedure Skills/Experience: Colonoscopy, EGD, Peg tube placement/exchange. Required General Surgery Skills/Experience: Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Colon resection - Open/LAP, Hernia repair inguinal/umbilical, Laparoscopic assisted procedures, Mastectomy, Thyroidectomy partial/total. Required Gynecology Case Skills/Experience: Abdominal hysterectomy, Anterior/Posterior repair, Bilateral tubal ligation, Dilation & Curettage, Laparoscopic assisted gynecological procedures, Vaginal Hysterectomy. Required Neurosurgery Case Skills/Experience: Craniotomy, Laminectomy/discectomy, Lumbar fusion. Required Oral Case Skills/Experience: Repair of fractured jaws, mandibular and zygomatic. Required Orthopedic Case Skills/Experience: Arthroscopy, Arthrotomy, Carpal tunnel release, Closed/Open reduction of fractures, Laminectomy/discectomy. Required Plastic Surgery Case Skills/Experience: Free Flap - Microvascular. Required Trauma Case Skills/Experience: Amputations, Gunshot/stab wounds, MVA (multiple injuries). Required Urology Skills/Experience: Cystoscopy,
Laparoscopic assisted cases, Nephrectomy, Ureteroscopy. Required Emergency management Skills/Experience: Fire Safety. Required Equipment/Instrumentation/Supplies Skills/Experience: Drills (multiple types), Electrosurgical units, Fiber optic light sources/cords. Required Professional Knowledge and Skills: Aseptic Technique, Isolation Precautions, Radiation Safety, Sharps Safety, Specimen Handling/Labeling, Universal Protocol (Time out) Procedure. Teaching Hospital Experience Preferred. Trauma Level I Experience Required.

Maybe the only thing which truly isn’t a problem is the dialect, but we got through that as well.
