Description
Manager will review General Information:
•
• Beds: 10 L&D beds; 4 OB ED (Triage beds); 4 Antepartum rooms
• Will you accept a traveler with 1 year experience? 2 years L&D experience, preferably level 3 or higher Labor and Delivery unit (i.e. an L&D that has a level 3 or higher NICU)
• Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
• Patient Types:
• We see all types of pregnant patients in our labor and delivery. We have the only Level 3 NICU in a 350-mile radius, so we accept patients with almost any kind of risk factor or complication. We care for high-risk all the way down to low-intervention laboring patients. Antepartum, OB triage/ED, postpartum, and infants
• Antepartum: 1:3
• Inactive Labor: 1:2
• Active Labor: 1:1
• Postpartum/Couplet care: 1:3 couplets
• Required: BLS, NRP
• Preferred: ACLS, certification in inpatient obstetrics, electronic fetal monitoring, or inpatient antepartum
• Must have manager approval to offer if candidate lacks any of the following:
• EPIC charting experience
• Level 3 or higher L&D experience and competency to manage high acuity labor patients, to include but not limited to - preeclampsia, preterm labor and delivery, management of laboring and antepartum patients less than 35 weeks gestation
• Must care for couplets
• Highly prefer candidate with Level 2 nursery baby experience
• IV starts, cervical checks, phlebotomy, magnesium sulfate, blood administration, insulin, circulate C-sections, C-section recovery care
• Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
• Unit Secretary
• Scrub Tech that supports L&D RNs
• Charge nurse
• VAT team is available if needed
• RT, 24/7
• OB Physician team
• Anesthesia/CRNA
• EPIC
• Will be required to work Postpartum/Couplet care throughout the contract
• Would love a candidate with Level 2 nursery baby experience
• NEO
• 4 days with preceptor - 3 in L&D and 1 in PP
• Shift Times: 12-hour shifts, 0630/1830, variable shifts, must work Nights/Days throughout contract
• Some requisitions may be posted for straight Nights, otherwise, comfortability to work variable shifts will be required throughout contract.
• Weekend rotation: every other
• No call
• Holiday Expectations: holidays as needed
• Approval of time off: Manager Approval
• Scrub Color: Cobalt Blue - provided by hospital
