Physical Therapist (PT) – 13-Week Contract

We are seeking an experienced Physical Therapist for a 20-week contract assignment. This facility licensed for 18 inpatient beds with a therapy department that is over 90% outpatient. This position offers a diverse caseload, treating all ages and diagnoses, with a small portion of inpatient/swing bed patients (approximately 10%).

Position Overview
Physical Therapists are responsible for evaluating, planning, directing, and administering physical therapy treatments as prescribed by a licensed physician. Therapists develop and implement individualized Plans of Care to restore function, maximize performance, and support patients in living within their capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized Plans of Care
• Administer physical therapy treatments and modalities to restore function
• Treat pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations
• Provide care to both outpatient and inpatient/swing bed patients
• Observe and evaluate treatment effectiveness and recommend changes to physicians as needed
• Coordinate, delegate, and supervise Physical Therapy support staff
• Ensure patient charges are accurate and entered in a timely manner
• Maintain documentation in accordance with current standards and hospital policies
• Educate patients and families based on identified learning needs and assess effectiveness of education
• Communicate clearly and professionally with physicians, staff, administration, patients, and families
• Ensure safe operation of equipment and maintain department cleanliness and safety
• Participate in infection control, equipment training, organizational safety, quality improvement, and fire safety programs
• Demonstrate flexibility, organization, and the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Uphold the hospital’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Standards of Behavior
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Current Illinois State Physical Therapy License
• Graduate of an approved school of Physical Therapy or accredited college/university with a Physical Therapy certificate
• Experience in all aspects of physical therapy
• Current BCLS (CPR) certification
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Basic computer proficiency
• Knowledge of physical medicine, anatomy, physiology, and physical therapy modalities
